Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee Secures Major Gains to achieve Free Health Services for Filipinos
Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee Secures Major Gains to achieve Free Health Services for Filipinos In a landmark step forward for healthcare, Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee’s efforts have secured a suite of expanded health benefits under PhilHealth, set to begin rolling out by the end of this year. Lee’s advocacy for accessible healthcare has led to new commitments for free diagnostic services, expanded cancer and heart disease treatment, and prescription glasses for both adults and children. The enhancements are part of a broader vision Lee has championed, aiming to bring healthcare directly to the Filipino people. Among these secured benefits are free Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans as part of PhilHealth’s outpatient services. Cancer treatments like chemotherapy, as well as procedures for heart disease, will soon have up to 80% coverage. Starting this November, Filipinos can also expect an across-the-board 50% increase in PhilHealth benefits, alongside free prescription glasses. Lee’s previous efforts led to a 30% increase in PhilHealth benefits in February, boosting support for hemodialysis and breast cancer treatments. His dedication reflects a lifelong commitment to helping Filipinos access affordable health services, with this latest batch of reforms promising to ease the financial strain on countless families. He firmly believes that healthcare should not be a burden, but a right that every citizen can rely on. Lee passionately declared, “Ang gobyerno, hindi dapat pabigat sa taumbayan. Tungkulin nitong pagaanin ang pasanin ng ating mga kababayan.” As he continues advocating for free healthcare through his “Gamot Mo, Sagot Ko” campaign, Lee remains focused on his mission to ensure government funds are directed toward life-saving services that bring relief and security to the public. #FreeHealthcare #ExpandedBenefits #WiseInitiative #HealthcareForAll #GamotMoSagotKo Healthcare Policy Previous Post Latest Posts 10 Nov 2024 Cong. Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee Welcomes Inclusion of Free Eyeglasses in PhilHealth Benefits
Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee Welcomes Inclusion of Free Eyeglasses in PhilHealth Benefits After almost a year of pushing for radical improvements in healthcare benefits, Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee welcomed PhilHealth’s announcement that free prescription glasses and optometric services will be included in its benefits package starting this November. These services, set to benefit over 40 million Filipinos, were part of the health commitments secured by Lee from DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa and PhilHealth CEO Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. during budget deliberations at the House of Representatives in September. Lee emphasized that this initiative is crucial for those who have had to forgo eye care due to financial constraints. Lee expressed his satisfaction, noting the impact this will have on millions who have been unable to afford eye check-ups or prescription glasses. “Masaya po tayong nalalapit na ang katuparan nito kung saan mahigit 40 milyong Pilipino ang makikinabang,” he said, underscoring the life-changing benefits this brings to families across the nation. Currently, Lee is in Bicol, leading relief efforts for those affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and providing support to communities hit by the calamity. The Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists (IPAO) praised Lee’s efforts, crediting his House Resolution No. 1623 filed in March, which nudged PhilHealth to add optometric services. “Malaking tulong ito lalo na sa mahihirap nating kababayan,” Lee added, noting that the new coverage will relieve many families of the financial burden of eye care and boost productivity by ensuring better vision for all. #HealthcareForAll #FreeVisionCare #WilbertLeeAdvocacy #AGRIForThePeople Healthcare Policy Previous PostNext Post Latest Posts 08 Nov 2024 Cong.
